Toward the end of the Summer 2014 session I was approached by a fellow student who had been working in the University of Hawai’i Archive for the last two years, processing the Peace Corps Training Collection. She asked if I would be able to help to create a digital and print timeline as well as a video collection to enhance the reception experience. I of course agreed to help and thus came to life this video which was created in iMovie.
This photo collection highlights the images from the Peace Corps Training collection which is being housed and maintained at the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa and of which is being processed. However, the collection includes items such as photographs, field notebooks, visual journals, training pamphlets, flyers, Peace Corps yearbooks and more. The staff is hoping to eventually make this collection (at least partially) available for online access.
How You Can Help
If you are interested in helping the collection, you can do so by making a monetary donation, volunteering your time or even donating your own Peace Corps training documents. Please send your inquiries to Dainan Skeem, Acting Department Head.
